Ivanhoe Classic 4s Invitational - 17 March 2012

The Ivanhoe Classic Invitational 4s Tournament was held on the 17 March 2012. The event is organised by Duane MacDonald who did terrific job in organising his first tournament.  Jellis Craig Real Estate were sponsors of the day.

The format of the day was 4 games each of 10 ends.  Twenty two teams played at Ivanhoe on a beautiful Melbourne autumn day.  Starting at 9.30 with a one end roll up, two games were played before lunch.  A delicious lunch was then provided.  The other two games were then played in the afternoon.
Prizes were also presented for best game in each of the four rounds.

Best first game: Alan Willocks team from Ivanhoe
Best second game: Paul Gonzales' team from Bundoora,
Best third game: Ron Hall's team from Warburton
Best fourth game:  Ron Short's team from Mitcham
The winners of the event with 4 wins 62 points and 22 shots up were Ron Farmer, Glenn Favaro, Peter Scott and Ron Hayes - Blackburn  with Gordon Hope representing Jellis Craig (far left) and Alan Willocks, Ivanhoe Bowls Director.


The runners up also with 4 wins, 62 points  and 21 shots up were Ron Coe, Bob Morgan, Damien Todor and Graham Crapper - Montmorency pictured below with Gordon Hope from Jellis Craig (far left) and Alan Willocks, Ivanhoe Bowls Director.

The day was an outstanding success attracting teams from as far as Mitcham, Montmorency, Rosanna, Altona, Burwood, Blackburn, Wallan, Doncaster, Warburton, Bundoora, Fairfield, Fitzroy Victoria, Richmond Union, Sunbury, Craigieburn as well as Ivanhoe teams and international player Siti Zalina Ahmad  (Lina).  Lina  representing Malaysia who won the Singles Gold Medallist in the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games played in the Classic as a skip for a Richmond Union team.
