CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

Tom Ristic is the new Ivanhoe Mens Club Champion The RVBA Singles final between John Angus and Tom Ristic in a high quality match on 17 January 2011.  The green was slow having just been opened after the heavy rain of the previous week.  The early part of the game was tight with scores getting to 6-6 after six ends. Tom then went to the lead taking the score to 12 - 7 and looking well in control.  Not to be out done John lifted his game and got to the lead 14-13.  Another few close ends followed with the lead changing several times and John holding good close shots. Not to be outdone Tom played some wonderful bowls to win these ends.  In a late game twist with Tom at 22-17 and John holding 3 shots, Tom played a match winning bowl and trailed the kitty to make 2. He then went on the win the next end and the match 25-17. Congratulations to Tom on his win and John as a worthy opponent. Tom Ristic wins Group 11 Champion of Champions The Group 11 Champion of Champions was played on 29 January.  Tom Ristic, Ivanhoe Mens Champion defeated Cliff Lynch from Eltham Rec 25-20.  Tom now goes on to play the other Group Champion of Champions winners. Well done Tom! Other Championship events Congratulations and well done to: Meredith Norton - winner of the Group Singles Anne Draffen and Sean Ingram - winners of the AERF Group Mixed Pairs.
